INTER RAO Lietuva – among the largest taxpayers
INTER RAO Lietuva, a leading player in the Baltic electricity market and one of the largest independent electricity suppliers in Lithuania, paid 118 million LTL in taxes last year, as announced by the State Tax Inspectorate. INTER RAO Lietuva was acknowledged as the 17th largest taxpayer in Lithuania, and 3rd among companies in the energy sector.
Vydmantai Wind Park, a subsidary of the group which operates a 30 МW wind farm in Western Lithuania, was also among the largest taxpayers in the energy sector – the company paid 4.57 million LTL in taxes last year and ranked 15th among the energy companies paying the most taxes.
“During a decade of operation, we have secured a firm position in the ever-changing Lithuanian electricity market, expanded our services to the other Baltic States, and invested into renewable energy with the intention of developing this field – we are a stable group of companies and the taxes we pay are a reflection of that,”– says Giedrius Balčiūnas, INTER RAO Lietuva CEO.
INTER RAO Lietuva has been among the top twenty taxpayers for the past few years.
INTER RAO Lietuva supplies electricity to Lithuania’s largest consumers, including oil refiner ORLEN Lietuva as well as other companies in the country that chose INTER RAO Lietuva as their independent electricity supplier. INTER RAO Lietuva also trades on Nord Pool Spot, the Nordic electricity exchange which is one of the largest in Europe.
