In the first nine months of this year “INTER RAO Lietuva” paid more than LTL 75 million taxes
“INTER RAO Lietuva”, a leading player in the electricity market in the Baltic countries and one of the largest independent suppliers of electricity in Lithuania, paid LTL 75.72 million taxes and other payments in the first nine months of 2013.
According to the State Tax Inspectorate list of the largest tax payers, “INTER RAO Lietuva” occupies the seventeenth position among all the companies in the country and is the fifth among companies in the energy sector.
The group company UAB “Vydmantai wind park”, which operates 30 МW wind power park in western Lithuania, has also swelled the ranks of the largest energy tax payers. This business entity paid LTL 2.854 million taxes and was ranked eighteenth among the largest energy tax payers.
“We are pleased with the fact that in the context of consistent business activities we managed to implement all the planned projects, pay taxes, and, as a result, we made our way to the top twenty of the largest tax payers in Lithuania. In addition, we are positioned in the top five among energy sector companies. This shows a successful running of a business as well as its actual contribution to the public state finances. A direct reflection of the fact that we are a smoothly operating company group is the paid taxes,” says Giedrius Balčiūnas, Director General of “INTER RAO Lietuva”.
Over the last few years already “INTER RAO Lietuva” falls into the top twenty of the largest tax payers.
At present, AB “INTER RAO Lietuva”, in accordance with the commitments undertaken, extends the validity of current contracts and concludes new ones with electricity consumers—legal persons. Also, the company announced that it has already extended the validity of existing contracts on the supply of electricity or entered into the new ones with UAB “MAXIMA LT”, public limited liability companies “Lietuvos geležinkeliai”, “Lietuvos paštas”, and companies which own shopping and entertainment centres “Akropolis”.
